American male involves two lovers travelling separately to San Diego, one by train and one by car, each encountering obstacles and adventures along the way while simultaneously searching for a solution to their relationship. Their individual thoughts, memories and dreams become a visual dialogue that eventually brings the pair together in an unusual moment.
